Newton Pippin Apple

Heirloom. First commercially produced apple in the United States with origins back to the 1750’s. This light green apple with a bit of blush was sought after in England in the 19^th century and has a rich aromatic flavor that requires hot summers and autumns to ripen properly. This apple is picked in late October and stored for 1-2 months to allow excellent flavor development. This apple is excellent for eating fresh, cooking, and for juicing and hard cider. Newton Pippin, when cooked retains some of its shape while having a very delicious rich flavor. Tends to be a biennial bearer. Used for Martinelli’s sparkling cider! Malus domestica 'Newton Pippin'
