This beautiful, evergreen shrub is an excellent choice for the Pacific Northwest and other regions with mild winters. Native to southern Brazil, most of the selection and breeding work with this plant has been carried out in New Zealand. Feijoa, also known as Pineapple Guava, is slow growing to 6 to 8 feet in height and features striking, red and pink flowers and delicious fruit. Feijoa is pest and disease-resistant, hardy to 5°F and likes a sunny location. Plant two varieties or seedlings for cross pollination and best fruit production. Ramsey is one of the favorite varieties around the PNW. Ramsey is prized for its early ripening, large, sweet and flavorful fruit. Ramsey also features an attractive, upright growth habit. Will do best with cross-pollination of another variety for a larger and more abundant crop! We suggest 'Marion'.
