Issai Hardy Kiwi (Self-fertile)

This beautiful fruiting vine produces bunches of large, sweet non-fuzzy kiwis that are about the size of a very large grape. A wonderful green exterior and the traditional yummy, bright-green interior, this vine is a winner in any garden space or orchard. Anatomically, the flower produces both male and female components on the Issai, though it is recommended to have male hardy kiwi nearby for bountiful harvests. This is due to the pollen on Issai not being highly fertile. One male can pollinate up to 8 other vines! Growing as much as 20' a year, this plant will need something to grow on to spread its beautiful vines. Once mature, annual pruning is recommended.
